I love their planes, the atmosphere, the culture of care they provide....just very limited in destinations. I was excited when they added Dallas but wondering if more are to come?

I hear they are bringing the monkey with the darts back to their offices next month for another session of picking destinations by throwing darts at a map :)

They have recently announced seasonal service to Anchorage for this summer and are flying to Newark and Austin. My guess is that new destinations will be limited for a while to seasonal routes until they get more new planes coming in.

And they slowed down acquisition of new aircraft.

It was suggested at one point recently that Hawaii is on the map for the 2015 time-frame. Assuming they are still in business then.

Yup, another route with "little" competition where their technology features (wifi, tv) make a big difference (or not).

Hawaii has plenty of competition from the west coast. And the VX wifi (gogo) won't work as currently installed. Neither will live tv.

That's my point. Little reason to fly them over any of the competitors, IMO.

Well, I could see their F product doing OK with leisure pax, given that everyone else's is going to be pretty "meh" and VX's F prices are usually pretty decent.

But they have to make it to 2015 first...

If the fears of revenue based rewards programs come to the legacy carriers in the US, I think VX comes out looking pretty good on this route. I find the service on VX to be almost consistently better in economy that UA/AA/DL. If the mileage we earn on those other programs all the sudden becomes less valuable, I think VX is in position to do well in head to head competition on a leisure route where frequency isn't particularly important.

The problem is that VX is not G4 nor AS (two examples of carriers who've expanded dramatically in leisure markets like LAS, Mexico, Hawaii), and, again, they need to make it to 2015 first. So far, they've shown no ability to make a consistent profit operating the fleet and route network they have now, and they've deliberately put a hold on expansion for a while in order to preserve what little cash they have left. What's changing for them between now and then?

They're running more transcon (i.e. higher cost) service in markets where the incumbents will be aggressive in defending their operations. ;)
