Any Expiring System-Wide Upgrades?

Discussion in 'General Discussion | Miles/Points' started by ChicagoShqiptar, Dec 16, 2011.  |  Print Topic

  1. Hi,

I know this is a stretch but thought I would give this a shot. I'm traveling internationally on an airline that I haven't flown before (US AIrways). I'm stuck in middle seat for my outbound and inbound flights because only middle seats are left. Not sure if anyone out there has any expiring system-wide upgrades. I understand that it is not allowed to purchase system-wide upgrades and am not looking to break any policies. Tis the season and thought I'd give this a try. Happy Holidays!

Does US even have a systemwide product?I thought they were limited to AA, UA and DL.

Yes! Chairman's members get two system wide upgrades each year that are good for Hawaii/Europe. Paltry compared to UA and AA. At least US doesn't put a fare restriction on them.

It is common practice to offer something in return for a valuable upgrade, even if the upgrade is shortly expiring. Miles, a free hotel room, something you might earn in the future. Happy Holidays!

  7. As long as this against airline policy, I'm definitely willing to offer hotel points, a donation to a charity in your name, etc.
