This outstanding site would look even more unified with a thoughtful color scheme. Right now, it's basic - dare I say it? - FlyerTalk blue, but I see hope in the form of some gorgeous shaded green bars and buttons.

If you could adopt this green scheme throughout, you'd have yourself one gorgeous look.

At the moment, the greens tend to clash with the blues, so something's gotta give.

I believe the current UI is just temporary. They are leaving it to an outside design company to work on the UI. I don't know if they have finalized the logo yet. I guess once they do, they can work on the colors :) Green or blue, they all look good to me

I can tell from your handle that you like blue, Blue Skye!

Yes, blue is soothing and calm, and it's the color of the sky that we see up in the air too :)

On a UA plane, you betcha. And now a pause for a long sigh for the Tulip. Which is blue.

But I'm telling you, on a website, blue is soooooo boring. I'd guess 90% of websites base themselves on blue. It's part of the Windows default. I'd love for MilePoint to stand out a little.

    wait, what? other colors? [IMG]

on another website, for a halloween joke, they changed everything to another layout and color scheme. it was hated quite a lot. the site owner and mods thought it was funny to have dressed up the site in "costume". it was known as the My Pretty Pony of doom. [IMG] it was the most horrible shades of pink i think i have ever seen. hilarious, yes but not something i would want to see again.

the point being, yes, pink is another color but not one i would personally pick. [IMG]

Windows default to blue for a reason. They have done extensive research on coloring scheme to make it easier on eyes and more appealing at the same time. Judging by the time we spent on MP and other similar site, I would say whatever color that's easy on our eyes are good. Not necessarily need to be some exciting color, the idea behind this site is exciting enough :)

as noted, what you see is only temporary as the agency works on home page and design including final logo, etc. As for FlyerTalk Blue? Actually flyertalk borrowed that blue from insideflyer.com. The same designer that first designed insideflyer later designed the first version of flyertalk and simply continued the colors. So now you know the rest of the story! Good ideas though, love the suggestions. It was green or the more common orange and we decided to go green. cheers.

Says someone who's looking at the issue too simplistically.

Let me further cause flummoxization among the group by stating unequivocally: My favorite color is blue.

ack! no, mauve. it is bright and um, garish and not something you want to see on a site while you are waking up, drinking your coffee and um trying to read while still half asleep. YMMV. [IMG]

Green would reflect the tiny carbon footprint we have as frequent fliers.
