Im sorry if this has already been covered elsewhere, I admit to being lazy and not doing a proper search.

The forum where Im most active is still in disarray and important destinations like Argentina and Brazil still do not have their own forum.

If it has been decided that they will not have one, I for one would like to know. If we are being asked to wait longer... would it be too much to ask to get an idea as to how long...?

    Thank you,
    Alex / Gaucho

I strongly second Alex/Gaucho. Several people have already mentioned to me that they see no point in posting brazil and Argentina comments because there is no way to find the threads other than meandering through unorganized disparate threads. Just this week somebody trying to find out about Costa Rica was frustrated enough to post about it. We do need better. Neither Argentina nor Brazil are going away. Every day provides more evidence of the importance of the topics. Not only do we have the largest airline in the Southern Hemisphere and prospects for several new combinations and alliances but we have huge and growing tourist and business activities.

Please, can we have some positive response on these two, at least? We promise they both will be worthwhile. While you think about that Chile would gain quick attention were they to have their own forum too. Please do not underestimate the Southern Cone!!

To add a little more perspective.... is there perhaps a conceptual misunderstanding on my part of how the new technologies of modern Bulletin Boards operate that would make a decision to create separate sub-fora have unwanted consequences...? I am the first to confess to not be the most tech & internet savy guy so I would welcome the chance to be educated.

As posted above.... there are a couple of us eaget to add content and assist other visitors to this BBoard.... but in the current state of things, its hard to be motivated to add content if its all a huge mess and just so hard to work with.

    Thank you.

It would be quite nice were somebody to answer our questions. I do not wish to be rude, but our last question was posted four days ago, and there is no response. Two of those days were weekend days, I must concede. Still, it does seem a trifle long to wait for a response.

I would also love an answer posted here... but to be fair I do have some good news related to this request of ours in that Randy himself hinted to something happening sometime soon.... he posted something like "as soon as....." So maybe Im wrong but this was my interpretation of a post he made in the SMD3 contest thread while making reference to one of my posts there.

Of course, it would be very nice if someone from the management team here could chime in and more thoroughly advise what the plans are for the Argentina & Brazil forums... but I for one was very much upbeat when I read the above mentioned post by Randy. I hope I read into his post correctly... if not, Im sure he or someone he appoints will clarify.

Wouldn't it be more intuitive to have the list not be alphabetical? I would imagine someone looking at Asia and expecting to find Thailand there, never thinking to scroll down and look for something country-specific. I would have similarly expected Argentina and Brazil to be sub-forums under Central and South America.

Yes. I really like it, but I am concerned that I seem to be the last poster and the OP on quite a lot of the Brazil Forum. Gaucho, ditto for Argentina. Now we need to get all the rest of you to pester us on those fora.

I kind of doubt that many people want to hear about all of Brazil's pests, no mater how wonderful the flora and fauna are. :p

Ha! We have colorful places like Charleston here too, Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais comes to mind. Gaucho will alert you to the excellent choices in Argentina too.

I am so very happy we have both Brazil and Argentina now as Destinations on their own!!:D

Its hard to compete with the flora of Brazil.... that tropical weather is just hard to match. For Fauna... well depending on what type you are looking for, I can make a few suggestions.... for urban "cats" just about any big city will do... else you may have to venture out into the Pampas, or Cordoba....

Back on topic on the reorganization.... Ive reported a couple of threads that were still in the general thread and should best be moved in to the Argentina Forum... didnt know if there was a better option to do this, I guess my reports will be passed on to one of the Guides that have sufficient powers to move these...???

    Thanks,
    Alex / Gaucho

I don't think Guides can move threads; they keep telling us that they have very limited powers on MP and can edit posts but not move threads IIRC. (This is not a complaint.) I think the Report stuff is handled by HOM staff, which seems to mean M-F during the business day in COS.

I prefer that all airlines have there own forum .. I find that I only look at the list of names ,,, I rarely open the "others" - EVEN when I know that's where the airline is located on this site ... visibility increases possibility of usage ... "out of sight , out of mind"

I agree, even if there is modest posting. Alerts can help us know when there is activity.

Not sure what other thread need to be moved, we have completed both Argentina and Brazil. Obviously threads that had multiple topics, such as "Chile and Argentina Reciprocity Fees for Dummies" we kept in the common Central/South America forum. There was a Malbac thread but it was for Malbacs outside fo Argentina and that was moved to a more common area. Anyway, if there are any oversights, please let us know.

Thanks Randy, I did report a couple of threads that I see as Argentina specific... I did this a few days ago so when you have time maybe these can be reviewed for moving.

    Thanks,
