I can't understand why UA didn't resolve this problem on the spot.

They were probably too glued to not taking any responsibility and missed the spot.

I'm not backing how United handled the situation on the plane here but this kind of stuff by wronged passengers is just stupid.

Really? Because, since this has hit the TV news, you're probably looking at some fairly steep compensation. Free travel vouchers, lounge passes, an upgrade or three.

Living in Houston, and understanding the attitude toward United here these days I'm assuming her "you shorted Houston" anger is more a fact in that then having to cut off some hair. (which will grow back). It's not like he cut off your arm with an arc-welder or something.

It sounds as if there's more to this story though. It seems that the FA was right there and responding.

"I don't know if I'd fly United again," Reed said

Living in Houston, I don't think she has a choice of totally avoiding UA :)

This story is from Ch2, not shocking they are basically a tabloid news station anyway.

The pax can also fly the orange and blue planes out of HOU.

Here's my question. If you see a maintenance person - or any person - coming at you with superglue to glue something over your head, would common sense not dictate that you move out of the way until worker was finished?

I think the local news stations troll IAH looking for unhappy travelers that they can put on camera.

I'd get out of my way if they were to just replace the lightbulb overhead my seating area.

Like i said earlier, ch2 (which is the NBC station that had this story) is the tabloid station in town. Blood, sex or scandal is their bread and butter. They usually finish last in the news ratings (among the major networks) so its not below them to tap into the anti-united sentiment down here for a story to lure some viewers.
