Supposedly, crisp bills do go for a premium over there. Swap some for old crumpled hundreds to bring back home, and you might be able to pick up some change.

Not sure how the Burmese authorities feel about that, though.

The original post originally speculated that there might still be a recently added, live fare from RGN to North America and quoted the fare rules of a very low-priced fare that the OP said they had seen using ExpertFlyer.

I took a quick look and did not see it price on ITA or any of a couple of booking engines. Looks like the OP may have found a place where it prices, or wants to see whether it starts showing up live soon.

Now that Gary has posted it on his blog may as well make it easy for the folks who started here.

RGN-YUL/YYZ for $500-700ish. Get the ANA flight to NRT (operates MWF) and then go WEST from there to ZRH or LHR. Use multi-city to book it.

Are the carriers generally willing to cancel without fee (given the price of the ticket) if I end up not being able to make the trip?

Yeah I'm sure most would. I cancelled one of these from round 2 and will cancel my round 1 (hopefully) eventually now that I booked this one on all *A

Thanks guys. Just got 2 ANA J/Swiss F tix RGN-NRT-ZRH-JFK at 750 each. Booked a positioning flight SFO-ICN-BKK on UA. Will be a fun trip for my son & I for his President's Day vacation week!

Travelocity oddly enough has NOT sent a confirmation email, but the records show in Travelocity.com and Chase even called me up to make sure they were a fraudulent transaction and said that they had gone through. Note to get 2 tix I had to book them separately.

There are discount carriers out of BKK, but any ideas on using miles to get to Rangoon from Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam? I have a bunch of miles with pretty much everyone.

    Thanks again.

I can't seem to book anything in Oct 2012 or Mar 2013.. Every price ex. RGN to LAX or JFK is at least $7500... Did I do something wrong here?

It's gotta be to a Canadian airport. I'm assuming those with ZRH-JFK are going to skip the JFK-YUL flight.

Not going to be in teh area when NH is flying, so I got RGN-KMG-PEK-MUC-ZRH-YUL. J until Switzerland, F to Canada. 545. Sure, fine, I'll take it. Note: travelocity, sought multicity RGN-ZRH, ZRH-YUL, Jan 2013.

This one is a royal pain. So many possibilities that all price out differently. And searching RGN-ZRH-YUL instead of RGH-NRT-ZRH-YUL prices out over $150 less than multicity with NRT in there. Then there's the issue of which airlines to use, where to connect and whether it's F or J. The first search got me F on Air China & Swiss to ZRH but then J from there on LX. Second search with NRT in there got me J on NH and LX only and priced higher.

There are reports on FlyerTalk of people getting F through LHR on OW for 280 Euros. I fail to see how that's possible considering the taxes into/out of LHR in business or first are too high.

Things that make you go hmm.....
