    Registered...

Question.. If I have a stay coming up for a single night (pre-paid). Now.. This promo needs at least two nights. If I book another night ("extend"), does it merge into one stay of two nights and thus qualify for the double/triple points?

i should think so, as stays seem to be defined in general as any consecutive nights in the same hotel, regardless of checkins/outs. May be good to email the hotel beforehand to ask them to try to put you in the same room, and put two nights on the same folio upon checkout.

I presume you already checked that your hotel is not in the non-participating list ?

It would depend upon how the hotel posts the stay, so I would recommend that you let them know at check-in that the reservations need to be merged and they need to be credited as a two-night stay.

The non-participating list is way too long IMHO.

seems to be the case, for particular states for example in the US...Massachusettes : may be easier (and shorter) to list the participating hotels instead in those states:eek:

Well... I have to point out that they pale in comparison to the Hilton opt up list.

Not supporting this move but obviously with the economy getting buoyant and the occupancy rate going higher, the better performing hotels are less inclined to pay extra to attract guests whom they feel will come anyways.

    Ideally,
    1) corporate level promotions should be chain wide
    2) auto opt-in with email to members about the promotion.

    :)

"Register by October 31, 2014, and start earning more at over 1,000 participating Starwood hotels and resorts for stays from September 15 through December 15, 2014. Isn’t more amazing?‬‬‬‬‬"

Not such an amazing promotion in my opinion. There was WAY TOO LONG of a gap between the last promotion (ended July 31st) and the one that is starting on September 15th. This upcoming one ends on December 15th which will most likely mean there is no new promotion until January 15th or even January 31st, 2015. Thanks, but no thanks - I will focus on Hyatt, Marriott and Hilton.

    Question:
If my stay is Check-in: Friday, Check-out Sunday (i.e. stay is on Friday night and Saturday night), is it triple points or double points?
I read in a blog that if I stay both Friday and Saturday, it will be Double points instead of Triple points which would not make sense hence the request to clarify.

    Thanks!

    Hi WilliamQ,

According to promotion terms, you will receive triple points on eligible stays that include a Friday or Saturday night (Thursday or Friday night in the Middle East). If your stay includes both Friday and Saturday, you definitely will receive triple points.

FWIW I have received credit for every weekend since mid-September except for the last one, since I spent them all in participating Starwood properties. I really like this promotion! I also really like the SPG help here at MP! Well done twice.:)

Their properties are not bad. Just that SPG Gold has lesser perks than Hilton Gold, namely Breakfast :)
