Today we’re pleased to introduce a new spg.com, and wanted this community to be among the first to hear about it. We’re still working through some small fixes, but didn’t want to delay sharing the new site with our members in the meantime. Hopefully you’ll have an opportunity to browse around and let us know what you think.

Here’s a quick summary of some of the changes:
    • A brand new homepage, including new site navigation
    • An enhanced redemption experience, including a redesigned spg.com/moments
    • Integrations to support members of our new B2B loyalty offering, SPG Pro
    • An even more personalized experience when you log in – from offers to account snapshots and more. Plus, the ability to save your stay preferences to your account with the introduction of SPG Preferences.

Let us know your feedback and suggestions – we’re all ears!

    Best regards,

It should probably not default to Mr./Mrs. X. Seems really impersonal. I would hope that Starwood knows what gender I identify as by now ;)

It defaults this way if you have not set a specific salutation. If you'd like for it to read specifically as Mr. or Mrs. or Ms. or Dr., etc., you can ask someone in an SPG Customer Contact Center to set it to your liking and that is how you will be greeted when you access the site.

Yeah, I noticed the Mr-Mrs thing when I logged on. You can't select salutation online.

Haven't had time to play around with it much yet, but will check it out in the next few days

Agreed. Also, account title needs no salutations at all.

Just asked for my account title to be set to 'Lord', slightly disappointed this is not possible :p

My Sith ancestors will be most unhappy.

Why is Mr/Mrs the default? Shouldn't it be Mr/Ms or are we back in the 1950s? Starwood surely must have female guests who are not married or do not use their husband's name. Some of them would be elite business travelers. I find this very offensive--almost as bad as the PP online form that would change gender to "male" whenever one seleced "Dr" as the preferred title.

Salutations are always tricky especially for ladies. Females could be Ms, Mdm, Mrs etc and then what about Dr, Prof, Cpt, Gen... :)

The salutation part at the top of the webpage is very offputting. It doesn't make any sense and there doesn't seem to be an easy way to set it to something that makes sense. Personally I'd rather not see it there at all.

I agree it's probably not necessary. Just use the full name instead :)

You can't get your web developers to add a single field to the profile UI?

I don't think that will be necessary now as it seems that the format was changed to firstname, lastname overnight.

Will rooms actually be assigned automatically based on our SPG preferences? Or is the process entirely manual dependent on each hotel?

    Hi MileWriter,
Rooms are not an automatically assigned base on your SPG preferences.
The hotel will advise you of which preference can be honored at time of check in.
