Fun factoid: Andrew Zimmern has flown 944,446 miles. They didn't say what elite statuses he has.

He's the host/star of the Travel Channel's Bizarre Foods series that visits restaurants around the world. IIRC he's from NYC but lives in the Twin Cities suburbs with his family. He's a bit of a celebrity on our local food scene and is sometimes seen in local grocery stores.

I'm surprised he's not yet a MM, even if artificially combined from all airlines.

Very scary that I've traveled significantly more than Andrew Zimmern.

Perhaps he has not made it to MP or FT yet to learn the 'value' (preceived or otherwise) of being a MM!! ;)

Hell, even I've traveled > 1MM if you combine airlines.

this is too funny, thanks for posting, I just saw this TV ad for the first time last night & thought the exact same thing, "I can't believe he isn't MM !!" :D

I once spotted him at the B-terminal ORD RCC United Club. UA is probably his carrier of choice, I suppose?

Maybe he spreads his travel across alliances? I don't know whether he would be a Travel Channel employee in some sense and subject to their travel policy or whether as an independent consultant he could do what he wants regrading tickets.

From MSP, the obvious airline was always NW and now DL because we're a hub, but I've never seen him on a flight, etc.

The writers probably just used what seemed like an unbelievably huge number of miles to them. Hah!

He boarded with FC. I watched him board as I accepted a bump off of the flight.

I was recently at the PHL RCC, and there was a 3.5MMer, two 2MMers, and lowly moi, at 1.9MM.

Conversation came up because one of the 2MMers didn't know that he was lifetime RCC until
the concierge pointed it out on his card.

I doubt at this point Zimmern is flying coach regardless of his status. I've met him a couple of times at travel shows. He is a really nice guy.
