J-cast.com is reporting that an ANA 787 had trouble confirming its landing gear was lowered and locked for landing on Monday in Japan.

NH651 from Haneda to Okayama aborted a landing and had to go around. The plane ultimately landed safely. It was taken out of service and a 767 was substituted for the return segment back to Haneda.

You should use Google Translator to read the site in English.

I think they had this issue during flight testing as well. Hope the warranty covers the repairs.....

New aircraft historically always have teething problems.
That is the challenge of being the lead customer.

Won't be an issue for their pilots! Maybe the 767 landing was really 787 training? :)

Indeed...as well as a risk of being an early pax on one of these new AC.

I waited a year before flying on QF's 380s...taking 747 service to lax instead. Maybe one year wasn't enough in that case...
