From my most recent Amex statement: effective 1 October 2015, every 250 Membership Rewards points transferred to BA or Iberia Avios will only net 200 Avios, and transfers must be made in increments of 250. The current ratio is 1000:1000.

Is this for Canada or US? Or both?

US. I'm not sure if it's changing for the Canadian cards or not.

Combine this with the increase in Avios required for upgrades and this gives me an upset stomach.

    Al Kaseltzer here!

Send $100K security to Fidelity and get 50K FF points on AA, UA or DL.
After 9 months send security to E-Trade get $500 in cash.
    Wait 6 months.

RE-send security back to Fidelity...keep cycle going until no more payment or miles.....which hasn't ended for me.

At least Chase UR still transfer to Avios as 1:1.

I've been making extensive use of the 4,500 Avios short-haul awards on AA/US/Alaska, so the other Avios award chart changes haven't hit me so hard. Yet.

I'm seeing some blog posts re: Canadian cards, but I don't see the offer available on the Amex site for me (US card).

Dan's Deals specifically says it's a Canadian offer, not available for US cardmembers. I suspect that is accurate.

SPG had a bonus for AA Miles ending in August.

From the Mid-West Avois miles are hard to beet.

Chase has the BA Card at 50,000 every 2 years..

Geez just called AMEX today(August 29) to inquire about sign up for AMX Platinum card and was told
BA, Iberia, Cathay Pac, Al Nepon, Alitalia, DL, and a few others were ) 1: 1 ratio. Thus my 100,000 point promotion offer would transfer 100,000 FF miles.

SO if by BA is rescued to 80 cents on the dollar is Delata, Iberia etc in MR program also being reduced?

I am debating of signing up for the AMEX Platinum 100k offer I got.
Airline miles transfer excludes AA & UA. I do not like DL anymore due to lack of availability of awards at lowest award levels.

Now the reductions in conversion start with BA & Iberia. BA was a pain in the ass as fuel surcharges ruin the value of award tickets with BA and Cathay Pacific.

Which airline would you now say offers the best deal for lowest award limits and have availability?
