I was informed by mail today that AMEX is increasing my yearly fee for the Plattinum Delta SkyMiles Credit card, from $150.00 per year to $195.00 per year.

This will begin at the (my) account renewal point (May 25, 2014)....

They are however dropping Foreign Transaction fees.

As the good wife and myself each take a suitcase when we travel and fly more than twice a year, this is still cheaper than paying for the suitcases round trip... Unless your flying First Class of course.

They do say I can cancel the account and they will prorate a refund of the fee.

    Keith.

I was hit with my $150 fee in October and have yet to receive anything about a forthcoming change. I know the new apps had the higher fee but initially I heard current holders would be grandfathered..

I've heard numerous places the new few is $195. I'm not aware of any grandfathering but if they do it for you, I'm happy for you!.

And the formerly free basic Delta Skymiles card (not the gold, platinum, or reserve) will now be $55.
