America's Top Airlines May Be Fighting the Last War

Just like the old adage that militaries mistakenly "fight the last war", and thereby lose the next one, this article states that the legacy airlines are doing many things wrong, thereby enabling the smaller airlines to continue to grow. Observations made in this "Motley Fool" piece about investing in the airline industry include:

    - legacy carriers don't want to grow
    - controlling capacity growth enables other (smaller) airlines to grow
    - industry fragmentation will likely increase

"Adam Levine-Weinberg owns shares of JetBlue Airways and is short shares of United Continental Holdings."

At least Mr. Levine-Weinberg has acted (the extent unknown) on what he has written!
