The biscuits & gravy looks awesome! I like how they give a plate of biscuits with a dish of gravy on the side.

Chicken fried steak when homemade and done right is an amazing dish, sadly too few places do it well. Same with corned beef hash (most places used canned junk that has a super high sodium content).

I was surprised not to see some sort of roast (chicken or turkey) w/mashed potatoes.

Meatloaf is great! from leftovers for sandwiches to using a breakfast w/a couple of over-easy eggs. YUM !
I never make it though in my house as the Mrs isn't a fan.

YES meatloaf the morning after is so awesome. Crust it up real nice on a griddle pan and then I drop my sunny sides on 'em. Might as well throw in some home fries too. Damn I'm hungry...

Meatloaf is great but I dont dare eat it at a restaurant... too worried about mystery meats. At home it can be excellent....

For me, the ultimate comfort food is chicken and dumplings. Mmmmm.

"Comfort" for these food is mostly linked to "taste" as oppose to "health"! :p

Pan fried pork chops are often a winner for me when I want a comfort food. But honestly, most foods that i like are comforting to me on some level. I'm not picky :)

My favorite comfort food (other than everything) is Navy Beans. Growing up in a lower middle class family, Navy Beans with bacon was a regular dish. Throw in a little Ketchup for color (although now I add tabasco). Maybe a piece of Cornbread. Add an RC Cola as a drink and I am back home.

    Man now I am hungry.

Just did a "control-F" search both on this thread and on the Yahoo story to which it links. Can't believe the word "macaroni" (with cheese, of course) is nowhere to be found in a discussion of comfort foods.

I have posted about the Loveless Cafe before - it's my source for spicy cajun bacon. In addition to traditional jams and gravy, they will also bring real sorghum molasses for the biscuits.
