American Express recently accounced premium medical travel insurance for very little; offer for platinum and centurion card holders that I can see. Wife and I got 100k in medical / dental coverage for 13.00 / month. Also includes medical evacuation when medically necessary -- this differs from other policies that say it is up to the insured. But 13.00 / month is pretty cheap for a couple.

I have used IHI BUPA for years. They find local medical care if you need it and do emergency evacuation as well. In the years I have had it I have used their referrals but never evacuated. A friend who signed up at my suggestion had to be evacuated from Vietnam back to Brazil and hospitalized prior to the evacuation. they arranged everything and flew him back to Brazil with no hassles at all. The cost reduces with years of membership, I am now paying $120 per year.

Since they've taken any mention of the Travel Medical Protection off their website (still not taking new enrollments), anyone know how I can find details on claims, etc.?
