Anyone else still excited to watch this show?

I'm not sure if I have a favorite team yet. Maybe a few more episodes will do it.

I still love this show and always have to watch it - even if it's online later. The school principals who took so long to figure out the clue - and came in last - will probably be the first eliminated in my opinion. Need a few more episodes though to see how the other teams do.

Great that someone started a thread here. My preferred site in the past has developed the dreaded "Long Running Script" error.

    To the show.

Two major blunders before the first pit stop. Losing a passport that is found by someone that realized that it was the Amazing Race. (True or Producers?) And the sign for a clue? Bad idea.

However, we do have some attractive and interesting teams this time.

My favorites are the Football Player and the Georgia Brother and Sister.

Back to your regularly scheduled program.

My question is amidst all the big, difficult tasks ahead, what can you say about a team that in its first road block task nearly has a meltdown over an inability to correctly memorize two sentences.

Not exactly on topic, but a thread on Survivor? Don't think I've seen one here on MP.

The "Dragon Slayer" is my choice too. Doubt if he will though.

This is my absolute favourite show, I think of it as being travel porn.

Don't have a favourite yet, but hope the ex-Survivor duo go out early. I'm sick of these reality tv professionals continually getting to eat at the trough. Go and get real jobs like the rest of us.

Big Amazing Race fan! I'd never want to be on the show though, because I'd hate to arrive in these destinations and rush through them without being able to marvel and explore.

Great to see the AA flight attendants on this season as well! I wonder if they'll be able to work that angle in the future....

Also I'm with Toula, hoping the Survivor's go quickly. Not a fan of professional reality TV stars.

Excited? No, not really not anymore. The TAR formula began to wear on me a few editions ago as IMHO we get less "real" folks and more wannabe actors, models, reality "stars".

I've also been convinced producers manage the race to keep the teams close so it's less a real compeitition than it used to me.

I'll still watch it over most other shows but I tuned in late as "Breaking Bad" was about to end and it's hands down way better viewing.

I love TAR! I keep telling myself that my sister and I will enter, and I'll use "travel blogger" as a hook to get on the show. This season looks to be quite a bit more challenging.

@tcook052: They absolutely do. You'll notice that there are several times in the game where teams get "reset" into two groups via some sort of transportation schedule - airlines, trains, etc. - or by attractions opening a few hours later, giving everyone a chance to catch up.

I am disappointed with the choices this season, especially including two reality-TV winners. If I wanted to watch Survivor, I'd watch Survivor.

Yes, the changes are more noticeable in recent editions and it's strayed from the earlier versions I liked better where they seemed to be more competative. Heck, the pit stop isn't even identified as being 12 hours anymore so who knows how long teams are kept bunched up.

Used to be I'd watch TAR at practically all costs whereas now I'll watch it only if I a.) remember it's on and b.) there's nothing more compelling on. It just ain't what it used to be...

At least it's still FIFO, so they have the gap between them at the pit stop. It's the delays between pit stops that bunch them up again now.

I like TAR for two reasons. First it's a heck of a lot of fun watching inexperienced travelers dealing with things I'm used to dealing with and either doing or saying something dumb.

Second, the show seems to frequently go to places I've been which brings back memories. One of the episodes ended in Panang in a house I was in. Others have visited sites I've been, though for some reason, they never seem to take the show to Patpong. I can't seem to understand why. (Ok, that is a joke).

Perhaps but it all depends what they're doing or where they're going after the Pit Stop and several times IIRC they've gone to the airport early AM only to find the first flight is not for hours.

Perhaps to make it more interesting (and they have, by not having Pit stops), they should do 24 hour legs, with detours in the middle of the night. It seems that ketchup usually occurs if they finish in the afternoon and their 12hour mandatory rest ends in the middle of the night. IF they have a flight 8+ hours - let that be their rest period and have them go for 24 hours -- grueling perhaps, but its The Amazing Race, not the Amazing Ketchup Race.

Yep, Sunday's episode was a "Catch-Me-Up" for the teams.

Ketchup and the great taxi driver episode!

btw, was that itty bitty sign in Amazing Race colors -- while I like a little twist and to catch the unobservant contestant, having the TAR colors would at least make it fair (like the television billboard).

Anyway very interesting to the see the Survivors and the FAs go down. They would probably be the ones who have flown the most!

I am seeing 3, maybe 4 competitive teams in the Race. The 'dudes are a pleasant surprise for their ability to read the clues properly! As for the episode, I was amazed that the contestants were giving away the answers to other teams!

ooh, so the first and second place teams were OneWorld and the 4 teams working together were Star Alliance?

Guess that makes the twins and the showgirls - Skyteam! :D

    Better than some pronunciations.

Strange how the two non-Elimination Legs so far seemed to benefit the Showgirls and the Twins. (I realize that the first one actually benefitted the Grandparents; but, in reality, the Showgirls should not have even made it to the plane.)

Now if we can get to a leg where they have to actually wear their swim suits! (Okay, enough of being a dirty old man)

    Beautiful scenery tonight.
