These regions, in the North East of France, border Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium. They're easy to reach, and wonderful areas to drive around, visiting the towns, tasting the food and wine.

I'll start with photos of Metz, the capital of Lorraine.

The town square, a few steps from the Cathedral, is filled with cafes and restaurants.

Art Nouveau architecture mixes nicely with the older styles.

Of course, I mostly photograph architectural ornament and details when visiting a new town. :)

A quarry near Metz, where they excavate the soft Jaumont limestone.

This tree on the edge of the quarry was covered with the fine yellow dust.

They're currently not working as a slide show, each link just launches the individual image. Did you use the "insert image as a..." buttons to put them in the post? I think if you edit your posts and click that button they should appear better.

    Example of a thumbnail:

Nice pix. I've never been to Strasbourg, I'll need to get back over and spend some time exploring the area.
