Allegiant named top-perfoming airline in North America for third year
Allegiant and Spirit Airlines are the only domestic U.S. carriers that cap standard checked baggage weight at 40lbs. [and of course they charge baggage fees for the smaller-than-other-carrier-baggage-allowance]
Also both carriers have more "ala carte" fees than every other domestic carrier.
Not surprising that Allegiant is considered "top performing" in the respect that they have amongst the highest performance for junk fees.
"According to the magazine, Aviation Week's highly regarded Top-Performing Airline (TPA) study is based primarily on financial results from the last full calendar year and objectively measures all public carriers world-wide. The metrics for the study have been refined over with input from industry leaders to include scores in five categories: liquidity, financial health, fuel cost management, earnings performance, and asset utilization."
Basically says that Allegiant is the best-run business among its peers in the air transportation industry.
