    Thanks for sharing. I've been up to the Ritz Penha Longa, but not made it down to the Algarve. My sense is the hotels in the area are in the moderate scale - nothing too over the top. Is that a fair assessment?

    Judging from the hotels I've visited, that is a correct assessment. Sheraton Algarve is quite nice though.

    Oh yes, the Sheraton Algarve, A Luxury Collection Hotel and there are also the Pine Cliff Residences, A Luxury Collection Hotel, which is part of the same complex, but while the Sheraton offers rooms and suites, the Pine Cliff offers villas, I understand.

    What about the Vila Vita Parc Resort, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World or the Hotel Quinta do Lago also a LHW member?

    There is also the Villa Monte, Relais and Chateaux on the Algarve plus the new Conrad Algarve is also due to open later in the year.

    So many things happening right now in this part of our beautiful planet!:)
