    He wants airport concessionaires to pay their 1,500 employees a “living wage” of $11.03 an hour.
    (about $22k per year; hard to live on less than that in the Chgo. area)

    San Francisco has something like that but it applies city-wide. The 2011 minimum wage is $9.92 an hour.

    Yep, The Starbucks price board looks very different at the airport.

    Gotta be hard to survive in SF on $9.92/hour. Can you rent an apartment for $500 a month there?

    I've been married so long I forgot about the "roommate" concept. [​IMG]
    OK, so as long as they don't get their coffee from Starbucks they can afford to live on $9.92/hour. Except that probably doesn't include any benefits, so they better stay healthy. [​IMG]

    They do have some type of health care program in the city, as I know a charge for it appears on some restaurant bills and that has been very controversial versus just building it into the menu prices. It may be unique to them in the Bay Area,
