Franchise Agreement Between Enterprise Holdings and Unidas Rent a Car Expands Travelers' Options, Provides Growth Opportunity for Both Companies

Enterprise Holdings today announced that it is franchising the use of its Alamo Rent A Car and National Car Rental brands to Sao Paulo-based Unidas, a leading Brazilian car rental operator. The 15-year agreement will bring the Alamo and National brands to Unidas' more than 100 airport and city locations throughout Brazil -- and enable both companies to better meet the needs of their respective customers.

The franchise agreement marks Enterprise Holdings' entry into the Brazilian market and helps the company substantially complete its Latin American footprint. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

    Thanks for posting that.
Unidas has more than 120 rental locations already, and 62 franchisees. They lok, act and perform similarly to their larger global competitors, although their business has been mostly brazilians and Argentines thus far. The finally decided to go with the National and Alamo brands mostly because of the rapid increase in tourist and business rentals from abroad and the expectation for continuing growth due to the massive growth in infrastructure spending and [petrochemical and other] industry investment as well as the World Cup and Olympics.

They've done very well manufacturing used cars, an aspect of their business that should continue to do well. Here is their site, Portuguese only:
