I'm a creature of habit, and if I find a good place to eat, I tend to go back there instead of risking some place that might not measure up. So I am curious fellow road warriors, what airport restaurants do you like? I'm not talking about the usual bar with a burger and a Sam Adams. Where have you had a decent meal?

    My favs are -
    Ike's Food and Cocktails MSP
    Stanford's PDX
    Reata Grill DFW

La Carreta in MIA (Cuban restaurant) excellent food.
Tortas Frontera in ORD (Rick Bayless) great Mexican food.

I'll third Tortas Frontera. And I doubt many of you travel to LIT but if you do Whole Hog Cafe has good BBQ.

My home base is ORD, so If I eat dinner at the airport, something in my plan has gone horribly wrong; I've never tried the Frontera in ORD. I have eaten at the really crowded downtown Rick. Bayless Frontera, and it was 'ok'. Not great, just ok. Price to taste ratio was in the house's favor, not mine.

They are all over the Houston area. (Along with their sister chains) Not being a seafood eater (even though I was born and raised in Maine) I have no desire to go there but there is usualy a packed parking lot at their places.

Bojangles, CLT. Nothing like a country ham, egg, and cheese biscuit to start the day off right :) :D

New Elway's steakhouse just opened at DEN. Awesome. Also, the sweet potato fries at the New Belgium Hub.

While I enjoyed my meal at the new Elway's I think the food is much better at their Ritz downtown location.

    Other choices for me:

Breakfast sandwich at Five Guys (IAD or DCA)
I like Pappadeux at DFW as well as Ice Box (pastries)
    Ruby's breakfast sandwich at LAS
Beignets at MSY in between C and D landside

The selection at Sea-Tac looked pretty good when I was there last weekend. Too bad I wasn't hungry.

I almost put Legal on my list, but didn't for two reasons:

    1. They closed at DCA.

    2. As a Yankees fan, I've blocked everything Boston-related out of my consciousness.

But, I do love Legal. It proves there is something positive out there to provide a counter to the Red Sox.

Alright, albeit traditional, however when in PDX....... Rogue has got to be a stop, an Oregon food icon and Laurelwood is pretty good also, and the beer here blows Sam Adams away. For full disclosure I don't eat much in PDX, but most all of the restaurants have outside locations.

Gustavs is pretty good as well, but when in PDX, beer is the way to go IMO.

Anybody been to Wolfgang Pucks Express in LAX? Flying through and I'm gonna stop there. Any recs??

    Agree with your pdx recommendations.

All Wolfgang puck express are the same. Pretty bland and overly salted, but better than Subway.

Also, FREE BEER at rogue if its your birthday, and when I say FREE BEER, it is a 32oz Stein, not a pint. Just show them your id and boom, at least at most Rogues you get the Stein, but a pint at least.

Well, my wife would say Cinnabon, everywhere...
My kid loves Ben & Jerry's and those places that sell candy by the pound/ounce

I do tend to go back to Reata Grill at DFW
Had a great burger at Don Shula in MIA

The Todd English Bonfire in B terminal where AA is at is overpriced but for airport food pretty good.
