I usually stay away from eating at airports, but sooner or later I'll have to give in. What are your recommendations of where to eat at "x" airport?

    Thanks.

MIA: Not great- Chili's before security
HKG: Fantastic- Sushi in the centre shopping complex (go down the escalator immediately after passport control/security)
YVR: Good- Japanese restaurant immediately before security on the left near the entrance to the D gates
SIN T2: Good- Food Court upstairs
VCE: Upstairs at the very end on the right- good German "Brahaus" food with Pilsner Urquell on draft
VIE Schengen: Directly beside the Senator lounge- go inside where it is quieter- Good schnitzel
LHR T3: Yo! Sushi in central shopping area after security
ORD: Not great- Chili's after security on concourse B (there is one on concourse C as well- but the one on B is usually less crowded)

    SEA - Anthony's

If I'm there in the morning and have a lot of time, I'll go into the main sit-down part of the restaurant where they have great scrambles served with their house-made blueberry coffee cake.. YUM!

If I'm there in the morning and I don't have a lot of time, I'll go to their walk up counter and get a breakfast taco.

Any other time of day, its the dungeness crab and grapefruit salad with a bowl of chowder..MMMM!!!

BOS: Legal, a shadow of its former self but still serving decent
food, has various places - my favorite is the C Bar, which is in
terminal B near the AA security check.

    BWI:
Bill Bateman's - good burgers outside security.

    DCA:
Five Guys - inside security, north pier.
Fuddrucker's - inside security, central pier.
Sam & Harry's - quite good steaks outside security.

    EWR:
I've had surprising luck at Gallagher's, which everyone hates.

IAD: two Five Guys (is that Ten Guys?) in A and B,
opposite sides of the same building. A is better.

IAH: Pappadeaux, that's some good eatin'.

    MSY:
Acme, outside security. Be careful what you order - the
    RBR bites the big one.

DEN - Itza Wrap Itza Bowl at lunch or dinner time for reasonably healthy Asian style fare, Pour La France for breakfast.

LAX - You can get Jody Maroni's sausages in Terminal 6.

ATL- One Flew South-If you have a long layover, sit at the sushi bar and put yourself in Allen (the head sushi chef's) very capable hands for an omakase.

If you are ever in HPN, just don't eat anywhere. The M&M's and the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are probably your best bet overall. I'm only half joking.

Of the Frommer list, I say "nah" to 3 (Obryci's, which is in the WN terminal anyway; Ivar's; and Encounter), "maybe" to one (Legal), and haven't tried the others, but somehow I doubt.

    That's funny.
My appropriate answer would be if you're ever in HPN call me and I'll bring good food to the airport. Assuming I have a car that day.

Be careful. I'll probably take you up on it. Should be there the week after next. BTW, lots of good food in the area but the airport... wowsers!! Of course it beats the Quonset hut they had back in the 90's.

Not in the airport itself- but connected to the terminal- the Hilton at ORD has a great steakhouse.

Fairly decent noodle shops in FUK domestic terminal 2. NRT has a not too bad "kuru-kuru" sushi place in Terminal 1(JMO-YMMV)!

To expand on TRAVELSIG's suggestion, it's called either
Gaslight or Gaslamp and is a sort of homage to bordellos
of old. Steaks are really good there, though.
