    I'm sure it does...North Korea just gets more media attention. ;) Looking at FT archives, airlines have done this in the past as well.

    Yes. The airspace is closed in the US near where spacecraft are being launch. That said, friends of mine have been on commercial aircraft perhaps 50 miles inland from Cape Canaveral and have seen spacecraft launches from the sky. I don't know how far the closed perimeter is.
