    But the airlines themselves have become laggards in data-handling innovation, according to Thomas H. Davenport, a visiting professor at the Harvard Business School. “They were early adopters, and they have not done much for many years,” Mr. Davenport said. Their loyalty programs and per-seat revenue management systems, he said, both date to the 1970s.

  3. Well for instance BA loads their SD's with an IPAD that shows every passengers needs and foibles. They come to the pax and make sure the info is correct,etc.
    those sorts of things are long overdue with most carriers. read the article for more
