Ditto +1 Tim Clark, I would be furious too, it's a great airplane to fly in. :)

Airbus also reported that the first delivery of its new A350, scheduled for Saturday, December 13, has been postponed. No new date has been set, the plane maker and Qatar Airways said on Wednesday.

Maybe you could team up with Mr. Clark and order couple more to keep the production line going. :)

Seriously, I don't know what Clark is saying here. Does he seriously expect any aircraft manufacturer to keep producing aircraft it aren't selling? Maybe Boeing could restart the 757 line.

(and yes, I enjoyed my four flights on the A380)

In a small way this may be good for Boeing, who had just announced that they were cutting back slightly on production schedules for the B747-8 from 1.5 per month to 1.3 because of slow sales. AB announcement of possibly stopping the A380's after 2018 might cause some buyers to rethink their choice of large aircraft needed for the long term and go with the B747. I'd like to see the B757 make a comeback, the sooner the better IMO, with upgraded more fuel efficient engines that might once again make it a big seller for airlines needing a plane for the long, thin routes.

In that picture it looks like the wingspan of the A350 is very much longer then the length of the fuselage, which may not be unusual but somehow looks like a B737 with longer wings to me.

Maybe I better get another cup of coffee.

Good thing I never flew it in coach. Forward cabins were OK and nice accordingly.

The Emirates business model centers around the A380. Emirates is the A380 largest customer and supporter, even when other airlines have given up on the plane. Yes, we enjoyed our flights on the A380 too, looking forward to some more in the future.

Fury at Airbus after it hints the super-jumbo may be mothballed

The crisis at Airbus deepened today as its share price fell yet further in response to fears it may be forced to mothball its famous A380 superjumbo due to lack of demand.

Airbus’s shares tumbled a further 2.5 per cent today, meaning investors have now wiped €6.6bn off the value of the aeroplane maker since its finance director admitted its plight earlier this week.

The A380 only had its first flight with passengers six years ago but already is suffering from a lack of sales, meaning it already risks becoming uneconomic. While the idea behind it was to reduce congestion at airports, in reality, it has emerged that there is simply not enough demand for a 500-seater long haul airline.

I could have told them that 7 or 8 years ago, saved them a lot of money and effort.
