Perhaps what you could really learn is that paying any attention to blogs (most of which tend to be self-serving anyway ) is a pretty fruitless exercise.

A few of the more recent "expert blog" prognostications.
    CX to leave OW
    QF to leave OW
When the LANTAM merger is completed the new congolmerate will more to Star.

Based on the above seems OW is about to collapse so you better start saving miles in another alliance:)

    No, AB isn't leaving oneworld.

Yes, they will codeshare with KL/AF on a couple routes. But they aren't leaving.

I guess what I was referring to was in the Reuter's article AF/KLM has publicly announced that they would like airBerlin to join Skyteam

    And I'd like a pet unicorn. ;)

Lots of people want lots of things. Doesn't mean they will happen. I don't think that AF/KL saying that they want AB matters all that much unless AB wants to leave oneworld. And there's no reason for them to do so. Despite the claims in that post, AB is VERY strongly positioned to provide connectivity on the continent for oneworld. Avoiding LHR or MAD is great for folks in that group; for SkyTeam it would just be another connection point like CDG. The value is less.

That they aren't hubbed in FRA is hardly a reason for oneworld to not want them around.

If Etihad joined Skyteam then a maybe, but until then oneworld is right for AB - it is the only mainland western European airline (since the demise of Malev) and neatly sits in between BA and Iberia and S7 in terms of Euro coverage.

Well...the confirmation I have definitely includes booking class, but I am not sure if I saw it while booking on the AB website.

It was JustFly I believe, and it booked into E. 25% of miles flown posted to AA quite promptly.
