Any idea when the two programs will merge?
If not, why are they merged here?
I don't believe the merger has been approved yet (and thus the programs have no certain merge date), and I'm not sure why they're merged here--Airtran's forums don't get a whole lot of traffic, so I'm not too bothered by the idea of having the forums merged.
what are the odds the deal does not get approved? what do the arbs say?
I doubt the merger wouldnt be approved. If the UA/CO was approved, no reason for this not to be.
The only type of merger that might be an issue is if like AA and Delta or something wanted to merge.
But I dont think we'll see a merger of the reward programs for a while to come.
Here's another step in the approval process from the FAA:
I'm up for elite renewal w/ 2 segments to retain status, however unless they plan to come out with some information on the new elite benefits in the near future, then it will be hard for me justify segment running the 2 (all of my travel lately hasn't been on direct FL routes).
