In mid January my partner and I decided to take a short break in Fiji, followed by a few days in Wellington to celebrate a good friends engagement party. Whilst I'm not in the mood for an overly lyrical trip report, hopefully the photos speak for themselves.

Dated IFE, but at least there is something for those without laptops/ipads:

The wine on offer looked cheap and nasty, so we stuck to our G&T's:

Starter wasn't to my liking, but having a traditional Fijian option was a nice touch:

Main wasn't that bad, but was still interesting:

    Chaos outside arrivals:

Overall, Air Pacific are a good cost effective option for travel to and from Fiji. I've flown with them previously and have found that they are perfect for the price they charge: just don't expect amazing F&B and great IFE. I will fly them again should I need to go back to Fiji.

Intercontinental Fiji (Natadola) - Club King Suite with Pool

After about 1 hrs drive from the airport we arrived at the Intercontinental. I started a thread on AFF regarding our disappointing stay here, which can be found here:

For only $260 NZD a night, we felt the Copthorne delivered - it exceeded our expectations and the location was fantastic. The balcony was slightly small, but it's one of the few hotels in Wellington that actually have balconies.

Overall, it was a good trip. Despite a slightly disappointing stay at the IC Fiji, we still managed to have a good time.

    Thanks for reading!

    Thanks.

I count 18 business seats in the nose.

I think there are some just out of view... the cabin is quite spacious.

We also flew J on the 738 on the NAN-AKL - felt much more cramped (a-la QF on their Domestic J)

Sorry I meant 18. That is a lot to squeeze into the nose.

Nice report, thanks! It is always interesting to read about exotic airlines. Your stay at the IC appeared enviable until I followed the link to the report on AFF!

Was this photo taken on the room balcony or in the restaurant?

That was from the room. Nice shot isn't it, though - the wine glasses are empty hehe

I've flown Air Pacific in J and IIRC they are ex-SQ 747s.
The J seats are quite comfortable and the old Raffles class seats (on which I have spent many many nights on SQ).
    Same goes for the IFE.

All in all I found Air Pacific quite nice for the short hop from SYD to NAN and back.
