    Hi Folks,

I have booked a NYC-PEK leg for Aug'13. I cannot find anyway online to select my seats for this flight. Book through UA but I have the AC booking ref#. Any way to do this without calling?

    Why won't you call?

Just another program I'm unfamiliar with. Wanted to learn about options for future bookings as well.

No. Nor can you order special meals without calling. They are very nice, though!

If you have other trouble with the fact that it's booked via UA, quote this post and I'll follow up with some notes I have from other people's prior issues. I didn't have any myself, though (I did cancel that leg and book a non-stop though)

Thanks for everyone's advice. I finally called and within minutes had 2 seats assigned. It's just always very surprising when airlines site has such limited options

I have found calling is always a mandatory part of my booking process when a high fare is encountered online.
A good agent almost always seems to find a better fare and save me money. One time $500!
