    Air China and Copa Airlines launch Frequent Flyer Program Cooperation
    Air China and Copa Airlines launch frequent flyer program cooperation from June 21, 2012.
    Air China PhoenixMiles members will earn Status Mileage on all scheduled flights operated by Copa Airlines, and redeem or upgrade Award Travel on all scheduled flights operated and marketed by Copa Airlines.

    Air China and AviancaTaca Airlines launch Frequent Flyer Program Cooperation
    AviancaTaca, which is composed of six airlines in Central Ameria including TACA, Aviateca, LACSA, TACA Peru, Avianca and Aerogal, is slated to join the Star Alliance on June 21, 2012, and Air China will work with AviancaTaca on FFP.
    From the date of the commencement of the cooperation, Air China PhoenixMiles members taking scheduled flights operated by AviancaTaca can collect Status Mileage, and can use the collected mileage to request round-trip award ticket and award class upgrade on the airlines. PhoenixMiles Gold and Platinum members flying with AviancaTaca are entitled to the VIP services up to the Star Alliance Gold standards, and PhoenixMiles Silver members are entitled to the VIP services up to the Star Alliance Silver standards.

    It seems that the real news here is the CA/Copa FF cooperation. Is this an early indication that Copa would soon becone a *A member on their own right?

    The CA/Avianca Taca FFP 'cooperation' appears to be simply the standard reciprocity among *A FFPs, since Avianca Taca just joined *A as a full member...
