Air Canada says it is cutting six of its flight routes because of high fuel prices.

The airline issued a statement this week, saying it would cut the following routes starting May 1: Ottawa to Thunder Bay, Ont.; Ottawa to Dulles International Airport in Washington; Montreal to Dulles International Airport in Washington; Calgary to London, Ont.; and Calgary to San Francisco.

YYC-YXU is surprising. I always had the impression that loads were good on that route.

  3. I wonder if AC will be laying off staff, or if normal attrition will be enough.

I've taken it twice, both times almost empty and no seats taken in J. But based on how family members come to visit us, it seems WJ is the more attractive option to get to southwestern Ontario from western Canada

Must be just Mondays and Thursdays that are full then. Co-worker of mine says they're usually full...but those are her travel days.

If they're cutting Montreal & Ottawa to IAD something's wrong.

If you are only going into Washington, DCA is more practical...
If you are connecting.....IAD is fine.

Right. DCA is much closer to the city centre than IAD just like MDW is closer to the heart of the town than is ORD.

  15. depending where you are going BWI is an option.
