Hello, all fellow members of Toasterplan! (You didn't know that Canadian consumer law now requires disclosure of significant household appliances? Oh, well, it should!)

I was perusing TOBB, because it's there, and realised that none of the active threads there actually dealt with matters of such great importance as to cause me to actually want to post a reply.

But here again, now I am wandering through the peaceable spaces of Milepoint and it dawns upon me that I can create new threads. Well, so can you, too, eh?

Seriously, though, I now propose a new thread for questions that nobody's been asking lately....

    So, I'll lead off:

Has anyone here **ever** redeemed Aeroplan 'Miles' for a toaster? Really? If so, do tell!

-- does it only make toast on non-stop mornings or can it handle mid-kitchen connections?

-- does it hew to the Metamorphic Law of Toast? ("To make toast, turn white bread brown and brown bread black").

-- are there blackout periods during which your toaster does not toast?

-- has a family member ever pulled status on you and bumped your toast out of the toaster?

An inquiring grandmother wants to know! Answers here or as scribbled notes on Air Canada lounge notepads, dropped in Seat 1D on your next flight.....

Does the toaster come with lounge access?

I'm sure if my SE100 was 'enhanced' enough I could get a toaster out of the MLL

I wonder how many e-ups would it take to upgrade to a better toaster?

I wonder how many toasters 'grow legs' from the MLL anyway. ^_^

I do rather miss the days of being able to drop into the MLL, and there toss a couple of tins of Granville Island lager into my bag, for the eventual fireside quaffing with my husband back home....

There's a thin line between toaster and toasted;)

I would be up for redeeming my Aeroplan points for a large bag of the Spicy Thai soup they serve in the MLL. That prob has a bigger target audience than toasters.

I wonder how long the 2014 luggage tags will last before they break.

B-T-W I've used Amex points for a toaster.

Yes, but don't you dare to enhance it by putting a cinnamon bun through it!

I tossed the tags into the glove-box of my pickup truck, to join my growing collection of ice-scrapers. ^_^

The little braided cables with the twist-locks, though? Use them as backup links on my key-ring. Thank you, Air Canada Attitude, for the gift of those handy little cables!

So far as I can tell, they are all Knorr-brand soup mixes. I've seen them for sale at cash-and-carry (restaurant and grocery supply) stores. The red pepper soup is my hands-down favourite.

By the bye, one of the kitchen dragons at YEG MLL told me that she always tries to offer one cream soup and one clear soup each day. Good on her for that!

I've never understood why some lounges will offer two "cream" soups at the same time.

there was no soup at the LGA MLL. Pre-renovation, they had a crockpot, but IIRC, the bartender said they broke it.

The new LGA MLL has more space as they removed the storeroom and put in a cell phone-free zone. Same supply of foods (salads, chips, yoghurt, fresh fruit cups, fruit, bagels, ramen noodle cups.....)

It depends on which vegetables were thrown out by the airport restaurants:) Broccoli = Cream of Green, Potato = Cream of White

.....I gulped when I opened my Aeroplan home page and saw "0" Distinction, "0" AQM, and "0" AQS today....made me realize how much work ahead this year!
