I think I know the answer to this, but it isn't clear from the U.S. Airways web site.

Later this week, I'm flying on U.S. Airways paper, on American Airlines metal for several segments.

I'm pretty sure this will still accumulate Aeroplan miles until USAir departs on March 30, but thought I'd get opinions.

Yes, you should be able to bank your U.S. Airway flights into your Aeroplan account until March 30, so long as the flight took off before that date.

If the flights are operated by AA then you cannot credit them to a *A partner, only to AA or US. Ticketing stock doesn't matter.

If they are AA coded then you can also credit them to other oneworld partners but if they are US-coded, AA-operated then only US and AA are viable.

    Even for USAir flight numbers?

    Yup.

As a general rule Star Alliance cares about operating metal, not flight number. There are exceptions to this but they are very much edge cases. A flight operated on AA metal with US flight numbers will almost certainly not credit to Aeroplan.

I'm travelling on Friday....will post what happens! I had no idea these flights were on AA metal when I made the reservations otherwise I would have likely found a *A alternative

No to Aeroplan....check in is through AA....the gate agent did take pity though and waived checked bag fee!
