Aer Lingus sued for $1m by woman distressed at loss of 'priceless' ring
I hope she filed a missing bag report at AMS.
Wouldn't it have been wiser to have worn the expensive ring (or leave it safely at home) rather then put it in her carry on bag? Why bring all those expensive "other valuables" along on the trip? Thefts have been reported from carry on bags even when stored in the overhead bins during the flights. She was tempting fate by putting such expensive items in her luggage for the trip. Or is there more to this story?
There are just too many questions and only a headline to work from. Common (?) sense ad a numerous travel advisories suggest that there is much more to this.
According to the news report:
The "headline" in the original post is a link that takes you to the news report. Or here is another.
Sorry missed the link, after reading to story I personally can find little sympathy for the victim. I understand that not everyone can have and use common sense all the time and that some of the statement is the required legalize required to win a settlement. But honestly she left her priceless reminder ring in a carry on and all of the photos of her children on a camera with no backup.
