    That interview goes down as one of the very dumb ones I have read over time. His non answers tells me he should have just shut up.

    Not sure what Kevin hoped to gain through the interview.

    Criticism on this board is quite lame compared to the comments in the Globe!

    Not Hot Seat so much as Comfy Chair.

    It was fluffy. The only thing I got out of it was that they will try to work on booking reward+revenue together. Seems like a good idea for family trips when there is only one or 2 rewards but more members traveling together.

    The non-answers for all the other questions was not unexpected, though would have loved to hear a real answer to the fuel surcharge and taxes questions.

    Q: "I literally dread the hours online it takes to try and find flights."
    A: "My heart breaks for that."... "I hope Market Fare actually helps with that."

    In other words... if you're willing to pay some ridiculous amount of points, you may get to book something online... we hope! :rolleyes:

    Some market fares aren't that expensive. Mrs tomh009 was looking at them (before we decided to use my miles) and she had market fares to MIA only about 30% higher (as I recall) than Classic. And with dStatus you would get a discount on those.

    I'm very frustrated with Aeroplan as I'm sure others are as well. An aeroplan redemption fare from YWG to BCN is 90,000 miles plus $959.00 (Business), or 60,0000 miles plus $658.00 economy, whereas I can pay for a Delta ticket for $898.00. Where's the value in that? Delta gives me much better value all round.

    These days I always compare Aeroplan against the cost of just buying a ticket on AC or elsewhere. Its been a while since Aeroplan tickets have been free. I just consider using Aeroplan to achieve a discount on an Air Canada ticket.

    The most undramatic differences in prices for me have been TB flights. Maybe a $60 difference between Aeroplan and Tango fares.

    TB?

    YYZ-CUN was 30K miles and about $150 in fees, so it was a reasonably good discount. But at other times it makes no sense at all, and then it's better to just buy a ticket.

    TB=transborder YYZ-CUN seems like a reasonable reward.
