The new "new" math - can't even figure out what kind of programming error would lead to 29 out of 21!
I"m just happy to see them making an attempt at adding value to the app. Other than grabbing my BP for Passbook, I don't see a lot of value in the app for my travel purposes. As much as AA skunks UA in a number of areas, "app functionality" is not one of them. I'd like to say I look forward to testing this, but that would wasn't already upgraded to first class on my desired departure flights this week.
This was the standby list, not an upgrade list. I came in at the gate next door to the "earlier" flight I couldn't book due to MCT (officially had a 15-20 min window, I think). Sent from my iPhone using milepoint
I know, just commenting I don't have an earlier flight to stand by for this week. Did you use the app to add yourself to the standby list or did you still need to enlist the help of a gate agent or self service terminal?
Still had to get a GA to do it. The GA's still don't understand the sort order, either. While I knew I'd be near the top of the list she seemed to be miffed that I was asking with such an already long list. She added me and in a surprised voice said "well, you're number two, wow!" Yeah, I've gotten that reaction a time or two. Now I want to go find a flight to standby on so I can test it.
Indeed This discussion on FT would seem to imply that that the upgrade list functionality is imminent http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/american-aadvantage/1480169-iphone-ipad-beta-4-app-upgrade-lists.html
Thanks, guess I'll have to await the next gen of the app...and keep checking ExpertFlyer availabilities and seat maps.
Flying FL this evening. I don't even get an app with them. AA's done well with their iOS and Android apps, despite the occasional UI bugs. What I really want is to see my actual AAdvantage history in the app, not just aggregate numbers. Sent from my iPhone using milepoint
