Has anyone else noticed that purchases either do not post (within the shopping account), only post after numerous email inquiries or once they do post in the AA account, they get taken back as returns even if the item wasn't returned?

I've had that issue with Office Depot purchases all the time. They post too many miles, then take back some randomly as product returns. Pretty frustrating to deal with.

Just had some miles taken back -

    - purchased a service
    - was overcharged
    - miles awarded for purchase
    - credit back for amount of overcharge (approx 20%)
    - all miles removed even though net spend should still qualify for miles

Email sent via website last week - no response yet

Thus far, I have not had any issue with miles for purchases posting - usually takes about 2 weeks. I get an email from AA shopping about the same time they post.

    :)

The last time I sent an email to customer service (password issue), it took well over a week to get a response...I'd resolved the issue by the time I got the email...go figure.

No issues at all with AA Shopping Mall. Miles always post as they should.

You are quite lucky... you use the shopping links or the toolbar or both?

I use both. Never had a problem with either.

I had a purchase not post. Contacted them via the form and submitted all the necessary info.
    Never heard back. Pretty frustrating...
In some ways, I feel the AA shopping portal is a gamble where you're taking a chance you will actually get miles

My miles almost never post in a timely manner and right now, I'm locked out of my account and requests for a pw reset have fallen onto dead ears. I'm so frustrated with this service that I'm starting to post all of my shopping stuff through Delta's plan, which is a total waste since they've got a BIS rule for their lifetime elite program. Sigh.

I've always had good luck using the AA portal. Just make sure to click through the link when its time to buy.

Anyone know if it matters whether or not you use the toolbar or the links? In terms of reliability in posting I mean.
