AA Reservations - Ignore the “Systemwide Updgrade available” indicator

    I love to check the AA website for a quick getaway to wherever when I have a weekend free. I put such a ticket on hold tonight. When I called the EXP reservation line I was smiling. This was a perfect fare for me to do a quick getaway weekend in Buenos Aires. I quickly learned that the SWU fares are BS. Booooo AA.

    Sorry, the Systemwide indicated online is only available for upgrading from Business Class to First Class, not from Coach to Business class.

    Wow, just wow. That sucks.

    Tom, I have one which was why I was surprised they show ont he website but are only for upgrading from business to first. Still leartning...

    Yup, that's the problem with AA's implementation. It doesn't specify which upgrade space is available and, likely, there's always upgrade space from Business to First.
