    LINK.

With all the negative press AA is getting both in the news and on FFer boards lately, it's nice to see a positive story. I wonder if they'd do this for me if I asked? :D

" When we arrived at JFK, we were met at the curb with a security person, luggage handler and the head of special events. They walked us into a special check-in counter area and, lo and behold, a big video monitor (pictured) saluted me with a personalized birthday greeting.

One of the security guards told me he’d worked at American Airlines for 35 years and had never seen anyone’s name on a video monitor."

I wonder if the friend who called mentioned that this fellow writes a blog, so AA realized that it would probably result in free advertising. And if so, more power to 'em!

A very attractive AA flight attendant once came to my seat and gave me a big kiss, when I was flying on my birthday with Mrs JBC. People clapped and commented. Of course she also is a good friend of ours and lived near us at the time. Still...memorable!

Sounds like this was a Five Star Service compliments of HSBC.

Five Star Service doesn't include a personalized check-in lane with your name displayed on the video screen and plaques upon boarding. ;)

This was above and beyond that.

...and, as news of this goes viral, am sure there'll be the "why didn't they do that for me" concerns.
