    COLUMBUS, Ohio -
An American Airlines jet was evacuated due to a bomb threat Monday morning after landing at Port Columbus International Airport.

Port Columbus police responded to the aircraft, American Airlines flight 302, on the tarmac at about 11:55 a.m., after a threatening note was found onboard during descent.

Airport authorities said the threat wasn't credible, but the note was found by a passenger in the bathroom of the airplane.

The passenger told a flight attendant, who told the pilot.

According to airport spokesman David Whitaker, the note was found written on a paper towel.

Officials at Port Columbus say the jet was pushed away from the terminal and was evacuated.

A K-9 unit and the Columbus bomb squad were also called to check the plane.

Passengers were removed from the plane and K-9 officers checked their baggage.
