    Nothing exciting (along the lines of the DL/SPG relationship), but glad to have this back in the fold.

    No special deal (other than a small intro bonus). Per the OP's link, if you stay at a Marriott and choose to earn miles instead of MR points you can now credit those to AA once again and/or you can convert MR points into AA miles. Basically the same as with their other airline partners, it's just that AA dropped out for a few years and are now back.
