AA launches new business / first amenity kits:)

    http://www.businesstraveller.com/news/aa-launches-new-business-first-amenity-kits

Premium passengers flying with American Airlines between London and the US will benefit from new amenity kits starting from the start of September, including new bed toppers, duvets, pyjamas and slippers for first class passengers.

The new products are being launched on B777 and B767-300 flights between London Heathrow and the US from September 1, followed by flights to and from Europe operated by B757 aircraft from October 1.

AA says it will be the only US airline to offer its first class customers “a soft, quilted bed topper, cozy duvet, slippers for lounging and comfortable pyjamas”. Those on B777 aircraft can also opt for a “light-weight day blanket”.

As they should be, this is a good improvement that AA FFers have been often mentioned as an easy way to make the premium product more "premium". There are quite a few more changes people would probably ask for before they consider AA F on par with BA F, but this is a great step in the right direction. :)

Received a kit on my LHR-JFK flight last week. My take on the new kits in J.

The bag - nicer. I like the design and improved zipper.

The rest of the kit feels cheaper. No more Burt's Bees :( and the lip balm is just "generic" the very very tiny sample creams are "dermalogica" which give you one application at most. Big disappointment. I hope they at least bring back the Burt's Bees in the future.

The pen works so I guess that is an improvement as well.

Had these in J on MIA-LHR this weekend. I like the new blanket---not as bulky, a little easier to throw over yourself, yet just as comfortable with the "fleece/soft" side on one side. Agree with the above-post that the skin care products---two small tubes (tube-ettes?) of Dermatologica stuff---seem meant for only one application (the flight, perhaps?) and not multi-use like the Burts Bees bottles. Ah, but if one wants more, there's a 20% discount coupon for ordering the Dematologica stuff on-line.
They passed out slippers as well, each pair wrapped in clear plastic...and stayed that way. As we de-planed, we could see that all the pax had left theirs, un-opened, in their seat storage cubbies.

Does anyone know if I can take the pjs home or should I leave on the airplane?
