AA is becoming inept

    I have lifetime platinum status and have been an exp for 3 years now, but the website currently shows me as a gold member. I called customer service and the rep told me that I am presently gold but in 300 miles will be exp. Anyone with a brain would realize that if I am exp in 300 miles (99,700 miles posted so far this year), I would at least have to be platinum presently. Unfortunately if they don't fix this quickly it will have an impact on flights that I have upgrades pending, and the rep I spoke to seemed a bit clueless.

    Well I know whatever "upgrade" they were performing this weekend was messing up everybody's accounts, but that's still no excuse for the agent not noticing that -- were you actually 300 miles from EXP that would mean you were Platinum, not Gold. Then again, they might just be reading from what the screen says, which could be displaying the wrong information.

    Call the EXP desk and have them help you. Unless of course you can't connect to them because they don't recognize you as EXP anymore.

    I tried calling my designated desk about my upgrades and miles being messed up and my missing flights. Tried three times, each of which the system just disconnects after you get through the automated menu. Sigh.

    Edit: Got through finally and given an estimated wait time of 16 minutes. :(

    Their website has been very glitchy over the past week. I am Platinum, currently showing no status with way fewer miles than I had yesterday.

    I was transferred to basic AAdvantage customer service, and it was much better today. They were able to find my missing flight and apply it, and I can already see the change on my account.

    I was told they did not expect these issues to last this long, and they are hoping to have everything fixed by the end of the week.

    EDIT:
    They were still able to see my total upgrades available even though they are not showing accurately in my account on the website, so you should be okay.

    Must be the Government programmers working the other web site that is messing up,

    I qualified again thus year, even tho I am lifetime, so I'll take it,

    Be glad AA Did not bring in a Canadian company to design the site...
