    LINK.

Looks like the MegaDO is being advertised to the masses. AA dropped an email with this link encouraging people to attempt to win a seat.

Two methods: the already announced video blogging effort, and a new chance to win a seat by bidding using AA miles.

Current highest bid as of posting? Almost 400K miles.

    (1) Yeah, when I got the e-mail I spent a "milli"second contemplating a "Mega"do auction bid, then quickly concluded it would be way out of my range, and frankly didn't even bother to go and look. Now that you tell me the bids are already nearing 400,000 miles, obviously I was right :(

    (2) As for the blogging effort, for me, forget it. I entered a vaguely similar competition two years in a row with Finnair, and got absolutely nowhere. I even linked one of my own webpages to the applications, and put "Sitemeter" on that page so I could see if Finnair even looked at the page. Nope, neither year, didn't even look. (Probably because I graduated from college so long before 1992, David - ha!)

At 400K miles, AA ought to throw in the biz-class flights to London!

While not the same, if I'm reading the offer correctly, they did throw in flights from the winner's home airport to DFW and then LAX to home. So more than what the MegaDO purchasers received.

Though I wonder if these bidders know that 400K can get you 2 RTW Y class tickets up to 50K miles in distance, or 1 RTW F class ticket and 1 MilesAAver off-peak F ticket to Hawaii?

    2003 was my year :D

Yes, that knocks me out. My children received emails from AA for the OWMN. They asked me what was a Megado.

Is Megado a word or should it be Mega Do?

Curious to see if a non-milepointer wins. As they would be in for a learning experience.

Wow. Maybe I should pass on this Mega DO and sell my seat for the current 411.000 miles bid :p

As American Airlines is helping out kids in need, to help American Airlines benefit organizations in the U.S. and around the world, I increased the bid to 451,123 AAdvantage miles. It looks like my bid was rounded down to 451,000 AAdvantage miles. It is heartwarming to see an airline like the new American Airlines take the time, effort and corporate commitment to help humanity and make our world better. This is just one more reason why I love American Airlines.

Like Budweiser was the king of beers, the new American Airlines could reign as the new king of the skies in a few years and, you won't have Clydesdale horse poop to clean up at corporate headquarters.

Considering that Budweiser is part of Anheiser Busch, based in Belgium, and the horses are primarily at Grant's Farm (with other locations), I don' think there's much Clydesdale manure in front of the headquarters. :)

If AA aims to be the new Budweiser, I think I'll never fly them again.

Well, since AA is trying to improve the premium experience, I would say that is doubtful. More likely they want to advertise as Michelob :p

No. This. And I'd much prefer to fly Heineken.
