Woke up this AM to find this staring back at me when I logged in to check some flight details I have:

Looks like chatter on TOBB confirms this isn't just an isolated incident, most people are reporting issues with how their account totals are being displayed. All my EQM/EQS for the year are gone, as are all of my RDM. SWUs are all present but oddly my stickers are now missing.

Related to the supposed announcement today?

My total on the home page is fine, but the account details show the same -- zero across the board.

My guess is it has to do with their upcoming change. The page will probably be replaced later after the announcement to reflect some new database where they take into account the new structure.

There was a brief moment of panic, I'll admit. :)

I'm in the same boat. Zeros across the board.

But from the app on my droid, I have all the info.

Mods on TOBB merged their thread with an existing one about monthly statement updates. I've seen those before and usually there is a message about the update. Mine doesn't have one this time. Maybe I'm just remember things wrong and this is a monthly event I've just missed out on all these years, but I really don't think so.....

Mod on TOBB posted a notice on the AA forum stating it was an unplanned outage related to a "major software implementation". See LINK.

Wonder where they got the info, but interesting nonetheless.

    Thanks David.

I do find it strange the software implementation does not affect the way the android app pulls data. I guess they'll be updating that in the coming days?

I don't have the technical know-how to get into that, I can barely type. ;)

I'm just glad my suspicions that this wasn't the typical "monthly update" turned out to be true. Some on TOBB were quick to mock their members for "panic monkey" behavior, but its looking like it's different from a run of the mill update.

Not that there should be any panic though. :)

My best guess is that they will be releasing an update to all the mobile apps soon to use whatever this new data source is, and the website or some other intermediate piece was updated out of order, and that's why the site is showing zeroes.

If there's a change coming, it's inevitable that the mobile apps will need an update since they don't use any sort of web-based display or metadata that can be changed... they seem to build the interface and pull the data for the different items (points, miles and segments)

Yeah, me too. The weirdest part is I actually don't have ALL 0's, but 4,250 miles (which is over 400,000 miles short!). Hopefully it's correctly updated soon...

AA.com has now added this wording to your account summary page:

"Although your correct AAdvantage account balance is reflected upon logging in, some summary statements currently display inaccurate details. We're working to correct the issue and apologize for the inconvenience."

Damn... looks like someone screwed up big if they couldn't even roll back the change.

AA's Twitter handler just tweeted after a customer contacted them about the issue with the advice to "call Customer Service". Seems like there's a lot of confusion within AA's public facing staff about what exactly to tell customers.

Hmm... I wonder if all the confusion would make it a good day or a bad day to try an award redemption. :)

barelyelite on TOBB just posted something that appears to be new, and takes the mystery a little further. There's now this verbiage at the account login section:

"By logging into my AAdvantage account, I hereby accept the Terms and Conditions of the AAdvantage program"

My iPhone app shows the right info, so some part of their system is still working, including my lifetime mileage (2MM is so close!).

But if I try to dig deeper with "manage my account" which basically logs me into a web page, I'm back to zeros.

Looks like some folks at AA had a late night, miles are posted back in accounts as of this evening. At least for me and others.
