Despite flying to London several times a year for the last few years, I have never had the opportunity to fly in a premium cabin. Thanks to someone's expiring system-wide upgrade turning into my grand prize, I just had to wait for the upgrades to clear. The first upgrade cleared for first class from New Orleans to Dallas (MSY-DFW), and 100 hours out the Dallas to London (DFW-LHR) flight cleared for business class. I was beside myself with excitement to finally try the lie-flat beds and reportedly good food. Even better was the opportunity to fly the new 77W in the American fleet. The last few times I flew to London and was supposed to be in the new plane, weather or cancellations rerouted me to the old birds. Luckily there were no issues with this trip, and I was able to finally fly the new bird. Read the entire trip report here.
