This is welcome news.
Nice! AA with flights to ICN
UA's SFO-ICN was always a very good route to burn SWUs on.
Hopefully AA eVIPs will have the same success rate.
This route is welcomed news indeed, I've always felt that Seoul & S Korea is overlooked by the US tourist.
They shouldn't be !
ICL is good news indeed; it should make it easier to connect to places in Asia. A 777 means three classes for now, loss of F but massively better J at some point in the future.
Be nice if they opened a FL in DFW at least while they have intl'l F for a while.
Sent from my iPod Touch using milepoint
I'm not sure tourism or the potential to connect customers on the limited number of OW flights was the goal behind launching service. It's possible to head to HKG, TPE, NRT, but ICN is not an ideal connection point for OW flights in Asia.
I'm guessing the Samsung presence in DFW had much more to do with it, as well as general business travel needs into S. Korea.
Also, that DFW-LIM flight schedule is not ideal. I hate landing after 10 PM anywhere.
Hey, sexy lady!
As much as i'm thrilled AA will have more metal going to Asia (one of the few things i miss about UA) the JFK-DUB flights are what have my attention.
Now to see if the old trick of forcing out of LGA will send me to DFW before back to JFK to DUB....
Cool: Germany, Ireland & So.Korea great destinations to use my upgrades on!
Glad to see service on AA metal vice a connection to BA via LHR!! Not that I have anything against LHR...I see it quite often.
Couldn't agree more. Ignoring that Seoul is a great city to visit (which you shouldn't), ICN is a great hub for so many great locations (Singapore, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, etc.).
DFE-ICN. That will be some serious eqms. Book in business and should br close to 25k points.
Great news! We need more flights to Europe for sure. Also, ICN is definitely a route to burn those EVIPs. Let's hope we'll see some real flat seats soon
On KE and OZ, sure. ICN is not a great hub for moving around Asia on OW carriers, even when MH comes on board. Limited number of flights and destinations. NRT and HKG are still the places to go if you need to get around Asia on OW airlines.
772 will be retrofitted, so we will see how quickly this route gets an upgraded plane. I'd prefer they go to NRT before ICN though.
Should be AA's 2nd longest flight after ORD-PVG now.
That should read DFW not DFE. Error on me.
The DUS flight might be quite useful even for me on the west coast. If I recall correctly, DUS is one of Air Berlin's hubs or focus cities.
Their 2nd largest hub after TXL. AB is launching ORD-BER already though.
Looking forward to both of these. I travel frequently to BEG, and OW had no good options for me until recently when the AB and HG flights magically appeared on aa.com. ORD-DUS and ORD-TXL add even more options!
20,523 EQP or 13,682 EQM for DFW-ICN-DFW booked in FAJDIYB
The more the better Giving *A some competition for the German market is a good thing.
not where I was going, but keep commenting
Thanks, I was correct, reasonably close to 26k eqp.
Am personally looking forward to another couple of options for getting across the pond sans the higher UK APD (DUS-ORD, DUB-JFK).
