I was at LAX today and they have decorated all of the gates. Apparently each department was responsible for a different gate, each had a theme. My favorite is Gate 41. Sorry some of the pictures are not great.

ORD had different trees created by each department. They are lined up outside the Aadmirals Club.

I asked our LAX GA about it, and was told (if I understood correctly) that there was also a content to raise money, that each team had a designated charity, and that the winning team's charity got all the money.

Anyone know how it turned out?

I love the idea of not only the charity but the different and unique decorations at each gate rather than some generic corporate standard decorations that are the same everywhere in the system.

BTW, in the SAN commuter terminal AA had tinsel around the stylized Eagle logo, and a wreath somewhere. Next-desk over airline (Delta maybe?) had a giant inflatable Santa sleigh/helicopter thing. AA agents were a little grumpy about being so splashily outdone :).

I really liked the individual gate and charity thing at LAX. Was told the tower or other non-customer-facing sites also participated.
