I woke up to a nice e-mail from AA.com this morning. I love group buying sites and there are some great deals out there. Now even more reason to shop at Groupon....8 AA miles per dollar spent!
This makes the deals even sweeter!!!

If you need a referral to some group buying sites please shoot me a PM with you e-mail address and I will send them out to you.

    Cheers!

Interesting offer. Combined with an email that I got last week from Groupon with a higher than normal referral bonus, is that a sign that their growth is slowing?

    No likes for me???

I don't think their growth is slowing, it looks like they are just looking for more ways to advertise and hope for people to go to Groupon and not all of the other copycats! For me, I go to whoever has the deals that seem right!

They may be facing a challenge from livingsocial.com. LS just had two major promotions, and each attracted over 1 million participants: $10 off $20 at Amazon, and two Fandango.com movie tickets for $9. Amazon has invested $175 million dollars in LS, so LS now has an 800 pound gorilla in their corner. And Google, yet another 800 pound gorilla, may try to become a player as well, after their $6 billion offer for Groupon was rejected. Great find. I use these types of sites anyway, always happy when a double dip type of opportunity arises.

Exactly my point! How do you go wrong with a sweet deal and then adding extra mileage to the offer!

Where is my like for posting this awesome deal! lol

So to get the deal you need to go to the AA.com shopping portal. Find the page for Groupon and whenever you make a purchase go through the shopping portal to link over to Groupon. If you go straight to Groupon.com you will not earn miles!

    Really?

If you feel the need to go asking for them then you probably shouldn't get any.

Post the information if you have it and want to share, not because you might get "liked".

  12. IMO, the better deal right now in regards to Groupon purchases is to go through Discover Card Shop Discover, with a straight 15% cashback.

If someone writes thanks, they can just "like" it. I did not post to just get likes btw.

  14. Great find, thanks. (And yes, I did like)

I actually used this yesterday for my first Groupon purchase. There's a scuba place next to a sandwich place my wife and I like. She's been pestering me to do an intro scuba class for several months, so I knew how much it normally costs: $95. The Groupon came out for this place for $15! Heck yeah!

Does anyone know if you can get credit for Groupon purchases? In my case, I bought two Groupons (totalling $230, I'm going Paragliding!) Saturday night and then I wake up Sunday a.m. to the 8 miles per dollar on Groupon email. It'd be awesome if I could get miles for those purchases, I just didn't know that deal existed when I purchased.

I plan on calling the AAdvantage number, but I was just curious if anyone else has had success with something like this.

No, you can't receive credit retroactively. AAdvantage offers you bonus miles because they receive a referral fee from Groupon when you use their link to make your voucher purchase.

It seems Delta is trying hard to eat AA's lunch with partner promotions as of late. Everything seems to pay off better mile-wise when you use them.

Now I just wish the stuff from the AA eshopping mall would post quicker... :)
